Awesome iGadget

Today, I'd like to post about a cool gadget I found that works with Apple iOS devices such as the iPod, iPad, and iPhone, as well as Google's Android. This gadget is the Griffin Helo TC Assault Helicopter.

This helicopter is controlled via one of the devices listed above. An app from the App Store on iOS or Android plus a special device case are used to transmit a signal to the helicopter. The helicopter is equipped with 6 nerf-like missiles that you can launch with the push of a button on your device. This is a very cool gizmo, and it is only $59.99 through Griffin's website.

Anonymous - Influential in Tech

There really is no one influential person in tech. The group that I found is controversial, but it makes you think a bit. The group called "Anonymous"  is a group of computer hackers who hacked the websites of the Vatican, the CIA, and the FTC. They did this to protest topics such as Catholic beliefs and the things that the CIA might hide from us. They are a leaderless hive of internet hackers. One way or another, they managed to make the Time 100 most influential people in the world list. They may or may not have hacked themselves onto the list, Time says. They plan to continue to hack controversial sites and show authority that they aren't fully in control.

Mojo 3D Printer

The Stratasys corporation has just released their 3D "Mojo" Printer. "The Mojo 3D Print Pack is the lowest priced professional grade complete 3D Printing System. It is priced at $9,900, measures 64 x 53 x 46, and has a 5 x 5 x 5 inch building platform. The printer has been designed to use an innovative alliterative to traditional FDM material extrusion machines. The material spool and printer head are integrated into a single system, the "QuickPack Print Engine". A fresh print head is used with each material change, to provide reliability. It is changed the same way an inkjet cartridge is changed on a paper printer. The following is a quote from Stratasys VP of Global Marketing, Jon Cobb:
"The name Mojo implies magic, which is how some describe 3D printing upon first witnessing it,"-"You can buy a less expensive 3D printer, but for the serious designer or engineer, Mojo is the lowest-priced product that offers professional-quality output, comes as a complete package system, and uses industrial-grade thermoplastic material. I expect this will be of interest not just to engineers and educators, but entrepreneurs and independent designers as well."

Big News

Cineskate: What happens when you mount your skateboard on wheels?
In the world of movies, when we see a "dolly shot" (a video taken by a camera on wheels that is driving around the scene in an arc), we are reminded that we are watching a cinematic production.
Although traditional dollies are expensive, the Cineskate product is more affordable for so called "newbies" to video.
The Cineskate is essentially a tripod on wheels, which allows for smooth movement of a camera across a floor.
According to Gizmodo, the tripod can be difficult to control at slow speeds, but works pretty well at faster speeds.
The Cineskate is portable, lightweight, and fun to use. The only downside is that the wheels are so small you can only use them on smooth surfaces. Here is what it is from Gizmodo:
Tripod: Gorillapod Focus
Head: Joby Ballhead X
Weight Limit: 5 lbs.
Included Accessories: Wheel bag
Price: $285 from Cinetics Store
Gizmodo Ranking: 3.5 Stars

So What Are Tech Gadgets?

This Dictionary refers to Tech Gadgets as "A Mechanical Contrivance or Device; Any Ingenious Article". An example of this would be an over complicated wristwatch , an iPhone , or just a regular cell phone . Any way you look at it, these new state-of-the-art gadgets are super cool.
